Johnson & Johnson expands African operations
Johnson & Johnson has confirmed it is opening a new office in Accra, Ghana.
The move will see multiple teams across its medical device, consumer, pharmaceutical and global public health divisions being brought together.
The company hopes this expansion and consolidation of its operations in Africa will enable it to offer a more integrated approach to improving health outcomes in the area.
Priscilla Owusu-Sekyere, country manager of the Johnson & Johnson office in Accra, commented: "The opening of our new office will play a major role in supporting Johnson & Johnson's goal of helping to improve the quality of and access to healthcare in west Africa."
She said the company is building a talented team that will lead the expansion of its product portfolio and continue addressing many of the biggest health issues that affect both patients and healthcare providers.
Ms Owusu-Sekyere added that its team will focus on the problems that "matter most to Ghana" by prioritising new initiatives in mental health, diabetes, maternal, newborn and child health, HIV prevention and oncology.
