Bristol-Myers Squibb and Nordic Bioscience ally on fibrosis biomarker research
Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced a new collaboration with Nordic Bioscience to develop new advances in the field of fibrosis biomarker technology.
The companies will be working to create biomarker technology to potentially aid the diagnosis and monitoring of a number of fibrotic diseases, including non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), leveraging Nordic Bioscience's experience in biomarker development and clinical trials.
Under the terms of the agreement, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Nordic Bioscience will collaborate on the development of translational biomarkers and diagnostics for the evaluation of NASH in pre-clinical models of fibrotic diseases and in clinical settings.
Nordic Bioscience is a leader in the measurement, development and validation of assays for collagens, elastins and laminins as biomarkers of extracellular matrix activity. It invented C-terminal telopeptide, a biomarker that noninvasively identifies osteoporosis patients with a high rate of bone loss.
