Dentsply Sirona receives iF Design Award for CEREC SpeedFire furnace

Dentsply Sirona has been granted an iF Design Award for its innovative sintering furnace CEREC SpeedFire.

The device won the accolade in the medicine, health and care category, emerging victorious over 5,500 other entrants from 59 countries after impressing the 58-member jury with its clear layout and high-quality build and processing capabilities.

CEREC SpeedFire is able to sinter zirconium oxide restorations in less than 15 minutes, and is the world's smallest and fastest sintering furnace to combine both sintering and finishing processes.

The device was previously honoured with the similarly prestigious Red Dot Award in the life science and medicine category last year.

Holger Emmert, director of marketing for the CEREC brand for Dentsply Sirona's CAD/CAM business, said: "The fact that one of our products has won two design prizes is a marvellous tribute to its exceptional functional, visual and ergonomic conception."

Other previous iF Design Award winners from Dentsply Sirona include the Orthophos SL X-ray system, the SiroLaser Blue, the CEREC Omnicam and the CEREC AF system.
