Nestle Skin Health marks 70th anniversary of Cetaphil brand
Nestle Skin Health has announced that 2017 marks the 70th anniversary of Cetaphil, its dermatologically formulated skincare range.
The original Cetaphil cleansing lotion – sold today as Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser – was invented by a pharmacist from Texas in 1947, using the same formula that is still in use.
From this point, the brand was gradually expanded and now encompasses a broad range of cleansers, moisturisers, sun protection lotions, baby products and solutions for sensitive skin conditions such as acne, eczema and rosacea.
Cetaphil has become one of the top skincare brands recommended by dermatologists and other healthcare professionals across the world, with products sold in more than 70 countries.
Neil Popplewell, vice-president for Nestle Skin Health's consumer business, said: "We will continue to develop the brand and make it more accessible to consumers worldwide. We look forward to the next 70 years of healthy skin with Cetaphil."
The manufacturer estimates that around one bottle of the original Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is sold every minute, underlining the ongoing success of the brand.
