Reckitt Benckiser completes acquisition of Mead Johnson
Reckitt Benckiser has announced the completion of the Mead Johnson Nutrition Company, a move that will enhance its standing in the consumer health sector.
The deal will give Reckitt Benckiser a global market leadership position in both the consumer health and hygiene markets, as well as providing access to lucrative Mead Johnson brands such as the Enfa and Nutramigen infant and child nutrition ranges.
Mead Johnson will initially operate as a separate division within the organisation, to be led by Aditya Sehgal, who joins Reckitt Benckiser's executive committee.
It is expected that the addition of the Mead Johnson infant and children’s nutrition business will increase Reckitt Benckiser's revenues in consumer health by approximately 90 percent, while increasing its developing market scale by approximately 65 percent.
Rakesh Kapoor, Reckitt Benckiser chief executive, said: "The closure of the acquisition marks an inflection point in Reckitt Benckiser's evolution to become a leader in consumer health and hygiene."
