Procter and Gamble names new head of global beauty business
Procter and Gamble has announced the appointment of Alex Keith the new head of its global beauty business.
Ms Keith is the current president of global skin and personal care at Procter and Gamble, and has been working for the company since 1989. She will assume her new role on July 1st.
The executive has spent the most of her career working within the firm's beauty operations, and will now take control of an $11.5 billion (8.98 billion pounds) business that encompasses the Head and Shoulders, Pantene, Olay, Safeguard and Old Spice brands.
She has been appointed as the successor to Patrice Louvet, who is leaving the company to become the next chief executive officer of Ralph Lauren. Ms Keith's current role will be taken over by Markus Strobel following the move.
Procter and Gamble chief executive David Taylor said: "Alex comes into the role with a history of strong business results, outstanding beauty knowhow, and a deep understanding of the industry and markets."
