MSD Animal Health launches Time to Vaccinate scheme in Europe

19th June 2017

MSD Animal Health has announced the European launch of a new scheme that aims to promote the benefits of cattle vaccination to farmers.

The programme features farmers providing their stories about how they manage disease, with testimonials, training and real-time connections giving them the chance to learn from their peers about the steps required to keep herds productive.

Time to Vaccinate will rollout across various European countries throughout the year, with the overall aim being to encourage more farmers to vaccinate their animals proactively, rather than waiting until disease strikes.

Klaas Okkinga, marketing director for global ruminants biologicals at MSD Animal Health, said: "Keeping animals healthy is at the core of everything we do at MSD Animal Health, and making peer-to-peer connections plays a vital role in learning."

The purpose of this project is to increase vaccination rates, leading to greater immunity against common pathogens affecting calves and adult cattle, improving productivity and animal health, and reducing the need for other medicines such as antibiotics to treat infections.
