Thermo Fisher Scientific’s QuantStudio 5 Dx System approved for use in Europe
Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced that its QuantStudio 5 Dx Real-Time PCR System has been approved for sale in European countries.
The company has successfully completed CE-IVD registration for the platform, allowing it to be used for in vitro diagnostic applications. It has been designed to offer a number of new advances to enhance accuracy and the user experience.
QuantStudio 5 Dx incorporates multi-modal software that allows it to be used either in test development, research applications or for in vitro diagnosis, making it suitable for clinics, hospitals and diagnostic test developers.
Will Geist, vice-president and general manager of qPCR for Thermo Fisher, said: "Today's molecular diagnostic laboratories and developers require high-performing qPCR systems that can be seamlessly adopted into their in-vitro diagnostic workflow."
The system has been developed through a collaboration between Siemens Healthineers and Thermo Fisher Scientific, incorporating the QuantStudio 5 System into Siemens' Atellica MDX 160 Molecular System to provide more flexibility and customisation.
Seegene is also working with Thermo Fisher to utilise its Allplex diagnostic assay portfolio on the QuantStudio 5 System.
