WE names new UK technology and consumer heads

WE has announced the appointment of new heads of its technology and consumer businesses in the UK.

Laura Gillen has been named as the agency's head of technology and corporate, and will be tasked with expanding on its expertise in this area, leading accounts such as HPE Aruba, Sennheiser Communications and Xerox, while also developing corporate offerings.

Ms Gillen has been with WE since 2011, with her promotion coinciding with the relocation of European vice-president Meredith Lynch back to the US, where she will become vice-president of the North America tech practice.

Meanwhile, Gareth Davies is taking up the newly-created role of head of consumer, and will focus on building WE's consumer portfolio while expanding an existing client base that includes FLIR Systems and iRobot.

The agency's UK general manager Marcus Sorour said: "WE-UK has a reputation for quality business-to-business technology PR, underpinned by integrated capabilities across a multi-channel digital communication ecosystem."

He added that the firm is keen to expand this strength to grow its consumer, corporate and health portfolios.
