Abbott named as industry leader in Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Abbott has once again been included in the latest Dow Jones Sustainability Index, a prestigious global benchmark for corporate sustainability and responsibility.

For the fifth consecutive year, the company has been named as the industry group leader in healthcare equipment and services, making it the only US-based company of the 24 recognised for leading their respective sectors.

The index recognises companies that have made outstanding efforts to enhance economic, environmental and social sustainability, with a strong focus on long-term shareholder value. Leaders are chosen from among more than 3,400 of the world's largest companies.

Abbott earned the highest industry scores across all three categories of economic, environmental and social performance, with its score of 87 more than doubling the average score of 41 for other businesses in the sector.
