Leica Microsystems adds new enhancements for Proveo 8 microscopes

Leica Microsystems has announced the addition of new and enhanced features for its modular ophthalmology microscope platform Proveo 8.

The company has added brighter illumination options for the core microscope for further optimised red reflex, as well as automated adjustment of settings that respond to surgical visualisation needs during anterior and posterior segment procedures.

By offering pre-settings for magnification, focus and light according to surgery type and phase, surgeons can simply tap the wireless footswitch to activate settings for the next phase, or to adjust focal plane or microscope angle.

This allows for very quick adjustment and a much more efficient workflow, ensuring the front lens does not move vertically in relation to the eye and guaranteeing maximum accuracy.
