GCI Health named healthcare agency of the year at Global SABRE Awards
GCI Health has been named as the top healthcare agency of the year at the Global SABRE Awards, organised by industry publication The Holmes Report.
The WPP subsidiary was presented with the prize at a ceremony in Miami on October 25th, having beaten fellow finalists Hanover, SPAG Asia, Spectrum and Virgo Health to claim the award.
GCI Health earned praise for delivering a growth rate of 21 percent over the last year, with its workforce growing to 150 people as it opened new offices in Philadelphia, Boston and Denver.
Having been established in London in 2013, the GCI Health business has been able to generate sustainable momentum through sensible corporate management and a commitment to innovation in its services.
Specifically, the Putting Patients at the Centre initiative – launched three years ago – has come to inform almost all of the agency's work, including its comms programmes supporting the launch of new medicines, and recent efforts to expand into biotech and medical technology.
The judges said: "WPP's GCI Health unit has been the most consistent performer in the healthcare public relations space over the past five years."
