Lucid launches new specialist business Vivid MedComms

Lucid has announced the launch of Vivid MedComms, a new specialist agency based in Loudwater, Buckinghamshire.

Dedicated to rare and specialist diseases, the business will be headed by managing director Alison Cantle, an industry veteran with more than 20 years of medical comms experience, and will employ account handlers and medical writers with specific skills in this area.

The launch of the new business reflects a recent industry-wide shift towards focusing on rare and specialist diseases, with revenues from orphan drugs outpacing those of mainstream drugs over the last decade.

Lucid's business in rare diseases has increased threefold over the last year alone, and with this trend expected to continue for the next 30 years, the group has determined that creating a standalone company focused on this field represents the most logical choice.
