Norbrook study shows preference for liquid version of Thyronorm
Norbrook Laboratories has announced the findings of a new survey showing that cat owners generally prefer the new liquid formulation of its feline medicine Thyronorm.
The survey of 200 veterinary surgeons showed that 92 percent of those polled reported that cat owners found the liquid solution easier to use than tablets when treating lifelong hyperthyroidism in their pets.
Moreover, 95 percent reported success in treating cats with the Thyronorm oral solution, while 89 percent expected the breakthrough liquid solution to improve compliance in the management of hyperthyroidism.
Additionally, 93 percent said it gave them an easier way to offer cats a low or moderate dose, as it can be titrated to effect, while 99 percent would recommend Thyronorm in the management of hyperthyroidism compared to other medical options.
Dr Rachel Crowe, Norbrook's companion animal senior product manager, said: "Thyronorm is helping to maintain the pet-owner bond. The easier the medication is to give cats, the less stressful this is for the carer and the pet."
