Ferring partners with Chinese Academy of Sciences on reproductive medicine

Ferring has announced a new collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences that aims to generate new innovations in the field of reproductive medicine.

The long-term collaboration aims to advance basic and translational research in reproductive medicine through the development of novel product candidates and therapeutic strategies for fertility and pregnancy-related conditions.

As part of the agreement, a new jointly funded laboratory known as the Ferring Institute of Reproductive Medicine will be created in Beijing, bringing together researchers from both organisations to find solutions to address global fertility challenges.

This will provide the Chinese Academy of Sciences with additional expertise and funding to support their world-class stem cell research and regenerative medicine programme, while Ferring will benefit from new therapeutic concepts and targets to enable the discovery of novel drug candidates.

Per Falk, executive vice-president and chief scientific officer of Ferring Pharmaceuticals, said: "Working together, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of fertility and implantation and discover new solutions that could transform the way in which reproductive medicine is managed in the future."
