Agilent Technologies announces partnership with University of Southern California

31st January 2018

Agilent Technologies will be establishing a new US research centre in collaboration with the University of Southern California.

The strategic scientific collaboration with the University of Southern California Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience will involve the creation of a new Agilent centre of excellence for biomolecular characterisation.

It will be housed in Michelson Hall, which opened at the university in October 2017, and will offer a resource for undergraduate and graduate students to access new Agilent instrumentation, as well as gaining exposure to renowned researchers.

The Michelson Center's lead investigator Dr Valery Fokin will play a key role in this research, contributing to multiple collaborative drug discovery projects, ranging from chemical synthesis of screening libraries and biological assay implementation to the development of targeted drug delivery systems, diagnostics, and vaccines.

Darlene Solomon, senior vice-president and chief technology officer for Agilent, said: "Convergent bioscience research requires successful collaboration across multiple disciplines – a holistic approach that is central to Agilent's view of the future."
