Bristol-Myers Squibb adds Yale Cancer Center to immuno-oncology alliance
Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced the expansion of its International Immuno-Oncology Network (II-ON) with the addition of the Yale Cancer Center.
II-ON is a global peer-to-peer collaboration between Bristol-Myers Squibb and academic organisations formed in 2012, and has since expanded from ten to 16 sites across North America, Europe, Japan and Australia.
Yale Cancer Center will now participate in II-ON's collaborative research, which will examine the mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy, identify patient populations likely to benefit from immunotherapy, and explore promising combination therapies.
Bristol-Myers Squibb believes that creating a more streamlined framework for peer-to-peer collaboration among global cancer research leaders in this manner will help to accelerate innovation and drug discovery in the immuno-oncology field.
Nils Lonberg, head of oncology biology discovery at Bristol-Myers Squibb, said: "We are strengthening our collective ability to address essential scientific questions and advance clinical discovery, which we hope will eventually translate to meaningful outcomes for patients."
