Dechra hosts webinar on bolder dosing for canine Cushing’s syndrome

13th November 2025

Dechra is hosting a canine Cushing’s syndrome webinar on ‘Bolder dosing for smarter Cushing’s management’ to highlight the principles and objectives of trilostane treatment and provide vets with information to enable them to understand when and how to adjust doses confidently.

Presented by Ian Ramsey BVSc PhD DipECVIM-CA FHEA FRCVS, professor of small animal medicine at the University of Glasgow, the one-hour webinar will take place at 8pm on Tuesday 9th December. Canine Cushing’s syndrome has been Ian’s principal research interest over the last 10 years, and particularly the clinical development of trilostane. This work has resulted in considerable changes in the management of this common canine condition.

Cushing’s syndrome can be challenging to manage, and vets are often cautious when adjusting trilostane doses, but being overly precise can sometimes slow a patient’s progress and affect their recovery. The webinar will give vets practical insights on how to monitor and adjust trilostane treatment effectively, giving them the confidence to make informed clinical decisions that support their clients both emotionally and financially.

Dechra has recently extended its market-leading VetorylÒ range with the launch of a new 20 mg Hard Capsule to provide dog owners with greater flexibility for the treatment of Cushing’s syndrome.

The new 20 mg Vetoryl capsule joins the extensive Vetoryl capsule range of 5 mg, 10 mg, 30 mg, 60 mg and 120 mg, to offer both vets and owners the freedom of choice to conveniently and accurately use the correct trilostane dose. Vetoryl Flavoured Tablets for Dogs are also available as 20 mg, 30mg and 60mg double divisible, chicken-flavoured tablets featuring SmartTabÔ technology, which allows the tablets to be easily divided into halves or quarters to aid flexible dosing.
