Krka Launches Generic Robenacoxib Chewable for UK Cats

Krka UK has launched Robexera Chewable Tablets for Cats, the first generic feline robenacoxib chewable NSAID available in the UK. Announced on 18 September 2026, the product treats pain and inflammation associated with acute or chronic musculoskeletal disorders and reduces moderate pain and inflammation associated with orthopaedic surgery, positioning as a bioequivalent alternative to Elanco’s originator Onsior franchise in the growing UK companion animal analgesics market.

Robenacoxib is a COX-2 selective NSAID that Krka positions as having the best proven safety profile for cats of any NSAID, offering a wide safety margin and no accumulation during longer-term use. Its targeted action concentrates the compound at the site of inflammation, while a short systemic half-life and high protein binding support rapid elimination from the bloodstream. Robexera is presented as 6mm diameter, meat- and yeast-flavoured 6mg tablets in packs of 30 for cats weighing 2.5kg and above. Safety of the product has not been established in cats under four months of age.

As the first generic feline robenacoxib chewable tablet in the UK, Robexera provides veterinary practices with a bioequivalent alternative to the originator Onsior (Elanco, following its acquisition of Bayer Animal Health which had inherited the Novartis animal health franchise).
