Cydar Medical Raises Money for EV Intelligent Maps

14th February 2023

Pembroke VCT and Downing Healthcare Ventures spearheaded a funding round to help Cydar Medical continue its commercial development and enhance its cutting-edge AI surgical mapping capabilities.

Cydar Medical, which was established in 2012, aims to revolutionise the way information is given to healthcare professionals by employing AI.

Pioneering hospital environments all around the world already use their first product, Cydar EV Maps, which is labelled ‘Software-as-a-Medical Device,’ to enhance endovascular minimally invasive surgery (MIS) operations. This continues to bring in increasing revenues for the business.

The solution builds a 3D map of the soft tissue particular to each patient, the AI technology and computerisation boosts confidence for the clinicians using it while speeding up procedures, lowering radiation contact, and optimising workflow.

With the money raised, Cydar can launch EV Intelligent Maps in the first half of this year, allowing clinicians preparing for MISs to look at contrasting patient anatomies and eventually enable prognostic planning across these operations.

Cydar Medical’s CEO, Paul Mussenden, explained that they are “focused on providing an integrated solution of pre-operative planning, intra-operative navigation and post-operative review for a range of procedures.”

“This latest funding round will enable us to bring novel integrated solutions to every step of the patient journey in image guided MIS.”
