Endovascular Engineering Hēlo PE Thrombectomy Device used to Treat First Patient

26th February 2024

The first patient has been treated in the initial research on Endovascular Engineering’s Hēlo PE Thrombectomy device.

A pulmonary embolism is a sudden blockage of one or more pulmonary arteries in the lungs, typically caused by a blood clot that has traveled from the legs or other parts of the body, leading to potentially life-threatening consequences.

The research was conducted in Tennessee by Malcolm Foster, the Cardiac Catheterization Lab chief.

The study will look to analyse the risks and efficiency of the latest Hēlo system, which incorporates new features to develop blood clot interactions and reduce blood loss.

Mike Rosenthal, the head executive at Endovascular Engineering, commented, “This first procedure represents a critical milestone for our company, as the ENGULF trial is a reflection of our commitment to advancing the field of thrombectomy and has been initiated ahead of schedule.”
