Jobs created with veterinary referral centre’s move to new £11m vet centre

19th September 2019

Southfields Veterinary Specialists in Essex, part of the Linnaeus Group, has been granted permission to convert a 40,000sq ft site close to its current premises into one of the largest and best-equipped veterinary centres in the UK, doubling its workforce, and thus creating significant new job opportunities. With the support of Mars Petcare, Southfields, one of the country’s leading veterinary referral centres, and Linnaeus will pour over £11 million of investment into the project that will see the new site fitted out with a new linear accelerator, a cutting-edge imaging suite, lecture halls, 15 consultation rooms, 7 operating theatres, recovery suites, separate cat and dog waiting areas, client walking and comfort areas, a dedicated ICU department and plans for a future hydrotherapy suite.
Operations manager at Southfields, Daniel Hogan, said: “Our relocation will provide the region with one of the largest and best-equipped veterinary centres in the UK. The team and expertise have grown significantly in the past 18 months. We are very excited to continue to expand the unique and innovative offerings in patient care at our centre. Increasing in size will also enable us to provide a dedicated staff well-being area and an education centre and lecture hall, which will offer some very exciting qualifications and courses for the wider profession.“
