SyntheticMR and Phillips Partner to Develop Quantitative Brain Imaging Software

5th March 2024

Phillips and SyntheticMR have partnered to progress quantitative AI-centered brain imaging devices to aid in the identification of a range of disorders, including dementia and traumatic brain injury.

The device, labelled the Smart Quant 3D MRI machine, has the capability to measure different brain tissues, which will enable a more objective method of analysing traumatic brain injuries. Common methods rely on symptom-based diagnoses.

The system incorporates three prior software’s developed by Phillips and SyntheticMR, including the SyMRI NEURO 3D quantitative tissue assessment software, the SmartSpeed image-reconstruction technology, and the 3D SyntAc clinical application.

The business executive at Phillips, Ruud Zwerink, stated, “With Smart Quant Neuro 3D, clinicians have access to an easy-to-use tool to provide valuable quantitative data to track the impact of treatments and make informed decisions about adjustments or alternative interventions as needed.”

Zwerink went on to add, “This continuous monitoring enhances patient care by enabling proactive management of neurological conditions and optimizing therapeutic outcomes for patients.”
