Role Overview

We are looking for an Assistant Research and Development Scientist!

Company Information

This company is a leading and well established medical diagnostic company, with an international reputation comprising two flagship business divisions that specialise in the design, manufacture and support of Clinical Electrophoresis and Haemostasis systems.

Role Requirements

Take receipt of new projects for the development of capillary electrophoresis tests
Identify deliverables and schedules for new work requests
Review existing projects and report findings
Assist in the compilation of technical documentation to strict regulatory standards
Implement/update processes within the manufacturing and QC departments to prevent the reoccurrence of these issues
Test Firmware releases prior to customer release
Maintain CE Product Technical Files
To maintain the R&D department including management of stock levels and ordering of laboratory supplies

Person Specifications

B.Sc. or equivalent in Life Sciences or Chemistry
Post-graduate laboratory/R&D experience is desirable but not essential
Familiar with good laboratory practice
Some knowledge/interest in Capillary Electrophoresis

Package

26 days holiday per year (1st January to 31st December) with 3-4 days kept for the Christmas closedown plus all bank holidays
Death in Service benefit of 2x annual salary
Auto-enrolment into NEST pension – 3%

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm and Friday 8am to 1:30pm
