Role Overview

This role involves maintaining and servicing sophisticated Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM) across the North UK and Ireland, ensuring optimal functionality through expert support and technical excellence.

With a longstanding presence in the UK, they provide comprehensive sales, support, and training services to clients nationwide.

Role Requirements

Carry out preventative maintenance on TEM systems to ensure continuous high-level performance.
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs, providing responsive technical support to clients.
Lead and manage installation projects for complex TEM equipment, occasionally requiring 1–3 weeks on-site.
Collaborate closely with a team of field engineers, contributing technical knowledge and support.
Willingness to travel regionally and nationally with overnight stays (2–3 weeks/month initially, reducing over time with training).

Person Specifications

Experience working with electron microscopes (TEM), including fault diagnosis and repairs.
Experience with large electronics systems such as avionics, radars, or sonars.
Background in working with medical equipment like MRI or high-value lab equipment (e.g., systems over £10k).
Qualifications: Ideally Level 3 or higher in a related technical field, though practical, hands-on experience is a significant factor.
