3M Unitek launches True Definition Scanner for orthodontic practice
3M Unitek has announced the launch of the precise and flexible new 3M True Definition Scanner, for use in orthodontic practice applications.
The device is a complete digital impression system that uses 3D-in-motion video technology to provide a precise and accurate replica of patients' oral anatomy, delivering full arch scanning with high levels of detail.
Orthodontists can display digital impressions immediately for use in analysis and treatment planning, with secure cloud-based storage of unlimited patient scans meaning the data can easily be incorporated into digital workflows.
Other benefits include its lightweight and ergonomic intraoral scanning wand, touchscreen display and streamlined rolling cart for ease of transportation.
Brian Anderson, digital orthodontics global brand manager at 3M Unitek, said: "The 3M True Definition Scanner delivers all the benefits of a digital process without forcing orthodontists to sacrifice freedom and flexibility."
Last month, 3M announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2013, during which it achieved a record sales total of $7.6 billion (4.88 billion pounds).
