A-dec releases new EA-52LED electric motor

A-dec has announced the launch of a new electric motor for restorative and endodontic applications which provides superior lighting to previous models.

The EA-52LED motor is an evolution of the company's own EA-50LT or EA-51LT units, replacing the older models' halogen lighting with high-performance LEDs.

According to the manufacturer, this allows dental practitioners to benefit from daylight-quality lighting throughout the treatment area, as well as full integration into the A-dec 500 and A-dec 300 systems.

Other advantages afforded by the new motor system include its easily upgradeable nature and the ease of operability supplied by a combination of foot pedal control and an A-dec deluxe touchpad interface.

Kris Christian, A-dec product manager for clinical products, said: "Besides power, precision and reliability, the EA-52LED brings innovative LED lighting for improved operator vision."

Earlier this year, the company announced that its delivery systems are now being optimised to incorporate Acteon's SoproLIFe intraoral camera technology.
