Actavis reports double-digit growth in 2012

26th February 2013

Actavis has published its financial report for 2012, its first since the recent Watson/Actavis merger, with annual revenue coming in 29 percent higher than 2011.

The combined company's net revenue total came to $5.91 billion (3.9 billion pounds), which reflects the strength of the business following the completion of Watson's takeover of Actavis in November 2012.

Following the acquisition, the group took the decision to adopt the Actavis name for the business as a whole, a change that came into effect last month.

During the 2012 full-year period, the company launched more than 1,000 generic products globally and filed more than 1,500 applications, making it one of the most prominent players in the consumer healthcare industry.

The firm was able to further expand its capabilities last month through the acquisition of Uteron Pharma, which adds three near-term and three longer-term projects to its women's health portfolio.

Paul Bisaro, president and chief executive officer of Actavis, said: "With the close of the Actavis acquisition and combination of our two companies … we are beginning 2013 on a solid commercial and financial foundation, well-positioned for sustainable long-term growth."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801547430-ADNFCR
