Actelion names new chief financial officer
Actelion has announced the appointment of Andre Muller as its new chief financial officer, effective from September 1st 2013.
Mr Muller will also be taking up a position on the company's executive committee and has been hired as the successor to Andrew Oakley, who is leaving Actelion to pursue fresh challenges elsewhere.
The new chief financial officer joins the company after most recently occupying the same role at the international pharmaceutical and cosmetic group Pierre Fabre, where he served in various positions between 1994 and 2011.
Actelion paid tribute to the outgoing Mr Oakley for his contributions to the company's growth over the last decade, while expressing confidence in Mr Muller's abilities as his successor.
Dr Jean-Paul Clozel, chief executive officer of Actelion, said: "He brings vast experience as a pharmaceutical finance executive and I am confident that Andre will make a significant contribution to Actelion's continued success."
This comes after the firm recently announced the takeover of Ceptaris Therapeutics, a move that will help to drive further growth for the business following its strong performance in the first half of 2013.
