Advanced Medical Solutions appoints new director

Advanced Medical Solutions has appointed Peter Steinmann as the newest non-executive member of its board of directors, effective from today (July 1st 2013).

Mr Steinmann brings more than 20 years of commercial experience in the medical devices and diagnostics sectors to his new role, having previously worked for companies such as Johnson and Johnson, Medtronic and Boehringer Mannheim.

Most recently, he was regional vice-president for global surgery and shared services for Johnson and Johnson's medical devices and diagnostics business in Austria, Switzerland and Germany, while he is also a current board member at consultancy firm Navus.

Dr Don Evans, chairman of Advanced Medical Solutions, said: "His considerable commercial experience and deep knowledge of the global medical devices market, in particular the surgical sector, will be of great benefit as the group continues to grow and expands into new markets."

Last week, the company provided an update on its financial performance for the first half of 2013, during which it experienced strong growth following the recent restructuring of its business units.
