Agilent launches new mass spectrometry solutions at ASMS 2016
Agilent Technologies has introduced a number of new mass spectrometry systems, software and technologies at the American Society for Mass Spectrometry's (ASMS) annual meeting.
The range of new solutions are designed for use by pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, metabolomics and environmental researchers, and are designed to improve both the speed and accuracy of mass spectrometry.
These included the Agilent 8900 Triple Quadrupole ICP-MS system, an inductively-coupled plasma/mass spectrometry system that delivers the lowest detection limits for previously difficult elements such as sulphur, silicon and phosphorus.
Other new offerings included Agilent JetClean, the first commercially available ion source that cleans itself, the Agilent Arsine/Phosphine GC/MS Analyzer and the Agilent Water Screener GC/MS Analyzer.
The firm also introduced significant updates to several software tools, such as MassHunter BioConfirm, MassHunter Profinder, MassHunter Quant and MassHunter VistaFlux.
Monty Benefiel, Agilent's vice-president and general manager of the mass spectrometry division, said: "The instruments and software tools we are launching at ASMS will help labs involved in developing new drugs and biotherapeutics, conducting metabolomics research, and detecting contaminants in the environment and our food make the world a safer place."
