Agilent Technologies boasts ‘industry first’

Agilent Technologies has introduced a new instrument capable of testing a range of communications technologies.

The 81150A pulse function arbitrary noise generator is equipped with a new pattern generator that makes it the only system of its type to offer a complete solution for analog, digital and mixed signal research.

Suggested as ideal for use in general purpose bench testing thanks to its compact design and rapid turnaround times, the unit also provides levels of signal generation that make debugging a simpler process.

Juergen Beck, general manager of Agilent’s digital and photonic testing products, said the 81150A is not only a time-saving piece of apparatus, it is "reliable and repeatable" when used as a measurement system.

"For mixed signal devices, it is no longer necessary to use a function or arbitrary waveform generator and a pattern generator," he added.

Earlier this week, the firm announced its U1253A handheld OLED digital multimeter had been awarded Electrical Construction & Maintenance magazine’s Product of the Year for portable testing and measurement.
