Agilent Technologies names new general counsel and secretary
Agilent Technologies has announced the promotion Michael Tang to the role of senior-vice president, general counsel and secretary with immediate effect.
Up until this point, Mr Tang served as vice-president, assistant general counsel and assistant secretary, with responsibility for advising the board of directors and management team on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and securities matters.
He also served as interim secretary following the departure of former general counsel Marie Oh Huber in April 2015, while acting as lead attorney on Agilent's spinoff of its electronic measurement business to form Keysight Technologies.
Mr Tang has been with Agilent since 2006, before which time he legally represented public and private technology companies across a broad range of corporate and securities matters.
Mike McMullen, Agilent's president and chief executive officer, said: "Mike is a brilliant, highly experienced attorney who also has a deep understanding of Agilent's business and future direction. I am delighted to have him lead our legal function as we take Agilent into the future."
The company is expecting revenue in the range of $1.0 billion to $1.02 billion (685.89 million to 823.06 million pounds) for the first quarter of this year.
