Alcon unveils Infiniti Vision System upgrades

Alcon has revealed hardware and software upgrades for the Infiniti Vision System.

The company noted the developments should result in surgeons benefiting from greater control when performing cataract surgery.

Automated delivery of the intraocular lens (IOL) is to be enabled through the introduction of the innovative Intrepid AutoSert IOL Injector, with the update delivering better surgical performance and improved patient outcomes.

The Intrepid AutoSert IOL Injector is being promoted as hardware with consistent IOL delivery that affords greater control for surgeons during IOL insertion 1,2.

Laurent Attias, head of global commercial strategy at Alcon, said the company is pleased to help customers expand the functionalities of the Infinity Vision System platform, adding the move should help to maximise consistency in overall patient outcomes.

Mr Attias stated: "The delivery of our Intrepid AutoSert IOL Injector represents an important step forward within the cataract market and further differentiates us from the competition."
