Align Technology launches new iTero imaging systems
Align Technology has announced the imminent launch of its new iTero imaging system for restorative and orthodontic procedures.
The device is a unified hardware platform with a wide range of software options, building upon the established digital scanning capabilities of the brand with a modern, ergonomic design, enhanced wand optics, an easy-to-use keyboard and a larger working surface.
Other benefits include its full-colour model rendering, reduced capture time, enhanced algorithms and flexible workflow, while it can also be a chairside platform for better patient communications and education during Invisalign consultations.
Align will commence sales of the new iTero in North America in February 2013, with international launches to subsequently follow.
Timothy Mack, vice-president and general manager of iTero at Align Technology, said: "The new iTero has been engineered with advanced optics and enhanced algorithms that substantially increase the speed of capture to reduce the overall scanning time."
This follows on from the recent introduction of Invisalign Outcome Simulator, an intraoral scanning application powered by the iTero and iOC scanners.
