ALK Abello proposes new board member for election

7th March 2013

ALK Abello has announced that Jakob Riis has been proposed for election to its board of directors.

Mr Riis, the executive vice-president for marketing and medical affairs at Novo Nordisk, will stand for election as an independent member of the board at the pharmaceutical company's forthcoming annual general meeting on March 12th 2013.

This recommendation comes as a consequence of Lars Holmqvist, who has been a member of the ALK board since 2010, deciding not to seek re-election this year due to his heavy workload and need to travel frequently.

Steen Riisgaard, chairman of the ALK Abello board, said: "His extensive experience in global launches of pharmaceutical products can contribute to the global success of the new allergy immunotherapy products which ALK expects to launch in the coming years."

According to the company's most recent financial report, ALK generated 2.35 billion Danish kroner (273.91 million pounds) in revenues during 2012, while advancing its research and development pipeline and bolstering its commercial portfolio.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801552475-ADNFCR
