ALK Abello reports growth in first quarter of 2011
ALK Abello has experienced an improved financial performance in the first quarter of 2011, according to the firm's new fiscal report.
The company's revenue total for the three-month period rose by eight percent compared to the corresponding quarter of last year, coming to a total of 609 million Danish kroner (71.7 million pounds).
During the quarter, the firm observed a broadly-based sales growth in regional terms, with France, Spain, the Netherlands and US highlighted as standout performers, while operating profit levels rose by 78 percent year on year.
Other key developments since the start of the year included the agreement of a new alliance with Torii and the significant progress made with the global rollout of allergy treatment Grazax.
The company stated: "The growth in sales and earnings in the first quarter was satisfactory and in line with expectations."
Last month, ALK Abello announced the election of Thorleif Krarup as the new chairman of its board of directors during its annual general meeting.
