Animalcare Introduce Eye-drop Emetic in Anticipation of Poisonings in Easter Period

13th March 2024

Animalcare has introduced a rapid-acting emetogenic product in the United Kingdom in anticipation of the rise in poisonings during the Easter period.

Clevor uses ropinirole as its active ingredient, and this substance specifically activates certain receptors in the brain that induce vomiting.

The product is administered through easy-to-use eye drops and is the first of its kind emetic pharmaceutical approved for repeat use.

The eye drops have been introduced to align with the predicted yearly increase in incidents of poisoning from raisins and chocolate in the Easter period.

The brand coordinator in the UK, Kai Crawshaw, stated, “Clevor is revolutionary in the field of emetics, offering veterinary practices a highly selective product with a non-invasive method of administration.”

Crawshaw went on to add, “We are confident that Clevor will quickly become a tried and trusted product of choice for those emergency situations.”
