Ansell launches workplace safety modules for healthcare workers
Ansell has announced the release of a set of two professional education modules that will raise awareness and improve education surrounding globally relevant workplace safety topics for healthcare workers.
The first of these is entitled Prevention of Sharps Injuries in the Healthcare Setting and offers guidance on safety initiatives to comply with the European Sharps Directive, while the second – Sharps and Ergonomic Safety in the Healthcare Setting – is aimed at the US market.
Both will be available online free of charge and join a growing library of Ansell-published education modules created over the last two decades, most of which are accredited and offer continuing education credit for registered nurses and surgical technologists.
Patty Taylor, vice-president for professional medical education and clinical affairs at Ansell, said: "Through these programmes, our goal is to help identify and prevent healthcare associated infections, potential errors and injuries in the perioperative setting."
This comes after the firm published its financial results for the first half of the 2013 business year last week, highlighting positive trends that have contributed to a year-on-year growth rate of six percent.
