ArthroCare completes takeover of ENTrigue Surgical
ArthroCare has completed its takeover of ENTrigue Surgical, an ear, nose and throat (ENT)-focused medical technology business based in Delaware.
The acquisition has been valued at $45 million (30.2 million pounds) in cash, with previous shareholders of ENTrigue gaining the right to receive contingent considerations for five years based on increases in ENTrigue's net sales.
ENTrigue specialises in the design and development of innovative implants, disposables and instruments for endoscopic sinus surgery, including balloon dilation devices.
Their products are used in the treatment of sinusitis, a condition characterised by the inflammation and infection of the nasal sinuses.
An ArthroCare statement said the acquired business "will now operate within ArthroCare's ENT product area as a complement to the ArthroCare Coblation and Rapid Rhino product lines currently being used by ENT surgeons worldwide".
ArthroCare was founded in California in 1993 as an arthroscopy-focused business and it has been able to successfully broaden its product range in the two decades since.
