Bausch and Lomb announces exec appointment

Bausch & Lomb has said it has appointed Peter Valenti III as president of the company’s North America Vision Care subsidiary.

Having previously been vice-president and general manager of Covidien’s Surgical Devices division, he has additionally worked 12 years at Johnson & Johnson in various roles including vice-president of global strategy.

Mr Valenti has also held brand management positions at Procter & Gamble.

Corporate vice-president and global president of vision care at Bausch & Lomb Stuart Heap said: “Pete possesses deep leadership experience, as well as considerable eye health and general healthcare expertise.”

He went on to say the appointment “further strengthens” the existing workforce, adding it is “focused on delivering innovation in the contact lens, lens care and vision accessories segments of the industry”.

Last month, Bausch & Lomb announced the appointment of Susan Roberts as its corporate vice-president.

Previous to her new role, she had held various positions in the company’s law department since she started at the company in 1995.
