Bayer HealthCare launches online CVBD education resources

9th May 2013

Bayer HealthCare has made various online resources available to help elucidate key issues involved in the fight against canine vector-borne diseases (CVBDs).

A special webinar hosted live by nine internationally-renowned parasitologists has been made viewable online that discusses the latest knowledge on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases transmitted by blood-sucking ectoparasites.

Complementing this webinar are a parasite image gallery, an interactive world map showing CVBD occurrence rates and various additional disease-specific information.

This comes in response to the risks posed by ticks, fleas, sand flies and other blood-sucking parasites, all of which can transmit dangerous pathogens to animals and humans alike.

Professor Dr Norbert Mencke, head of global veterinary services and marketing for companion animal products for Bayer Animal Health, said: "Bayer's ongoing support for the CVBD World Forum is part of our commitment to fostering scientific exchange and collaboration among leading experts in the fight against canine vector-borne diseases."

Earlier this year, the company strengthened its animal health offering with the purchase of the US-based veterinary business of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801583424-ADNFCR
