Bayer HealthCare’s Contour shows reliability in new study
Bayer HealthCare has published results from a new study that shows the excellent reliability of its Contour blood glucose monitoring system for diabetes patients.
Data from the US-based study has shown that Contour is able to deliver consistent readings that exceed the acceptable accuracy requirements set down by International Organization for Standardization guidelines.
The device was shown to offer performance comparable with laboratory methods in an easy-to-use format that can be utilised independently by patients, making it easy for them to understand their blood glucose results.
This aids diabetes sufferers in understanding and assessing their conditions, while its built-in No Coding technology helps to avoid inaccuracies caused by user miscoding.
Bayer HealthCare said: "Many people with diabetes control their blood sugar level on a daily basis with a blood glucose monitoring system. Accurate readings are of high importance to successfully self-manage their diabetes."
In August 2011, Bayer's diabetes care division highlighted the success of a recent community event that allowed young diabetes patients to train at Glasgow Celtic Football Club for the day.
