Bayer’s polyurethane integral skin foam used in exercise machines

Bayer’s polyurethane integral skin foam – called Baydur – is now being used on exercise machines, having proved useful for the application.

The material, supplied by BaySystems Italia, is being used on the frame, base and other parts of Allcare Innovation’s Imoove exercise machine, Bayer said.

Project manager at BaySystems Italia, Ivano Colpani, commented: "This is yet another example of designers making full use of the scope provided by Baydur."

Baydur 60 is used in the front and rear covers of the column in the machine, plus its moving platform, due to its sandwich structure producing a lightweight yet stiff material.

Meanwhile, Baydur 110 – an almost solid polyurethane material – is used to make the machine’s sockets.
