BCF Technology provides equipment for new RSPCA hospital

BCF Technology has provided equipment to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) for use at its newly-opened animal hospital in Birmingham.

The centre, which represents the first national RSPCA centre in the history of the animal charity, will utilise a number of BCF products in its operations, including the Carestream Classic CR X-ray system, GE Logiq-e ultrasound scanner and ImageCare Plus PACS system.

BCF radiographer Kat Evans and account manager Annie Makin previously visited the RSPCA's old centre in Barnes Hill to provide staff training, but impressed the charity's staff sufficiently that the firm was consulted on digital imaging solutions for its new facility.

The range of equipment that the RSPCA is now using has been installed on the advice of BCF, with trials carried out using the machines showing that they will amply meet the charity's needs.

Thanks to the opening of the new site in Frankley, the RSPCA will be able to offer care for more animals outside London without needing to rely on assistance from private vets.

Earlier this month, the company donated a refurbished SonoSite ultrasound scanner for use by the Dogs Trust.
