BD names new chief financial officer

BD has announced the appointment of Christopher Reidy as its new chief financial officer and executive vice-president of administration.

Mr Reidy will take up his new position from July 15th 2013 and will be responsible for executive management and oversight of BD's global financial operations and shared services, as well as its IT operations after a transition period.

He joins the company from business outsourcing solutions provider ADP, while he has also served at NBA Properties, AT&T and Deloitte and Touche over the course of a career spanning more than three decades.

Vincent Forlenza, chairman, chief executive officer and president at BD, said: "He is well-positioned to help drive BD's strategy of accelerating growth through innovation, geographic expansion and operating effectiveness to create value for our customers and shareholders."

Meanwhile, Suketu Upadhyay, who has been serving as acting chief financial officer since November 2012, is to take on the new role of senior vice-president for finance to coincide with this move.

This comes after the firm named Dr Ellen Strahlman as its new chief medical officer and senior vice-president for research and development earlier this year.
