BDTA wins Accredited Trade Organisation status
The British Dental Trade Association (BDTA) has been awarded Accredited Trade Organisation (ATO) status by UK Trade and Investment.
Following this announcement, the BDTA will be able to participate in the Trade Access Programme (TAP), offering additional services and support to dental businesses seeking to expand in overseas markets.
This officially formalises the work already undertaken in this sector by the organisation's export committee, allowing exporters to access government funds available to firms which exhibit on TAP-supported pavilions organised by the BDTA.
Only four associations in the life sciences sector have been given ATO status to date, of which the BDTA is now one.
Tony Reed, executive director of the BDTA, said: "TAP Accreditation provides an opportunity to gain valuable input with government at policy level, which we hope will prove beneficial for all our members."
Last month, the organisation held its annual BDTA Dental Showcase, which saw its highest ever number of exhibitors and was attended by more than 10,000 people.
