Bedfont Scientific’s NObreath used in new study

Bedfont Scientific has announced that its NObreath FENO (fractional exhaled nitric oxide) monitor has been used in a new investigation into better methods of controlling asthma.

The device was employed in a study carried out by Dr Junpei Saito at the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London, which aimed to assess whether domiciliary daily home FENO monitoring could be useful as an index of asthma control.

Results from the study have been published in the European Respiratory Journal which suggest that FENO monitoring in a homecare setting can improve asthma control and help to predict exacerbations.

The researchers also gave a poster presentation highlighting their key findings at the European Respiratory Society Conference in Barcelona between September 7th to 11th 2013.

According to Bedfont Scientific, the NObreath FENO monitor offers a number of key benefits to researchers and users, including its rapid measurement performance, ease of use, low cost per test and portable nature, as well as the fact that it can be used by both adults and children.
