Beiersdorf expresses confidence based on 2012 results

Beiersdorf has voiced confidence in its financial performance for 2013, based on the growth it experienced in the 2012 business year.

Stefan Heidenreich, chairman of the firm's executive board, stated during a presentation at the firm's annual general meeting that Beiersdorf met all of its business targets last year, with its shares performing well and sales increasing compared to 2011.

During the period, the firm implemented a number of important strategic initiatives, including an updated design of its Nivea brand, continued expansion in emerging markets and successful efforts to streamline the organisation.

The group's sales are expected to outperform the market as a result of this, despite ongoing difficult macroeconomic conditions.

Mr Heidenreich said: "What we have achieved in the past year allows us to tackle the challenges of the future with confidence in ourselves and in our abilities."
