Beiersdorf maintains positive momentum in first half of 2013
Beiersdorf has published its financial report for the first half of 2013, during which it generated a group sales total of 3.06 billion euros (2.63 billion pounds).
This represented a 6.6 percent increase in organic terms and a 3.3 percent rise on a nominal basis, while its operating result excluding special factors reached 434 million euros, an increase of 11.2 percent.
Key brands such as Nivea, Eucerin and La Prairie all saw year-on-year sales improvements, while emerging markets such as Latin America, Africa and Asia experienced double-digit growth.
Beiersdorf is targeting group sales growth of between five and six percent for the full-year period.
Stefan Heidenreich, chief executive officer of Beiersdorf, said: "The systematic implementation of our Blue Agenda over the last twelve months has given Beiersdorf a clear boost. We are becoming increasingly better at translating the potential of our brands and our company into economic success."
The group hopes to build on its 2012 strong performance, during which it was able to update its Nivea branding and streamline its business processes.
